INSTRUCTIONS

PROGRESS OF GRAPHIC NOVEL

01.10.18 - 08.10.18 (Week 6 - Week 7)

For this project, we are briefed on making a graphic novel based on the given story from https://poestories.com, any urban legend stories or creating our own story. We need to have at least 6 panels with 2-3 transitions based on the chosen moment we wanted to do.

I found this interesting urban legend story about a love story between a husband and a wife which was related to painting and art. It's called the Oval Portrait by Edgar Allan Poe. https://poestories.com/read/ovalportrait

I decided to sketch some of the parts that I will draw. Mr Kannan also asked us to make a mood board.

15.10.18 - 22.10.18 (Week 8 - Week 9)

This week we started drawing the comic in either Photoshop or Illustrator and we also started colouring the comic to create the atmosphere, ambience and characters. Everyone was using the tablet to draw but I wanted to do this different style and use more pen tool than the tablet pen.

FEEDBACK
Mr Hafiz said that he likes the colour of my comic and the transitions and proportions are fine. However, his only comment was that for the second page, he asked me to change the hands and asked me to focus on her facial expression. In addition, for the third page, the transition wasn't good and it didn't make sense.

Mr Hafiz gave me some sketches that he drew.

29.10.18 (Week 10)

I took the feedback and changed the 2nd and 3rd page of my comic.
