FINAL PROJECT

04.02.19

After the presentation of the data collection, we felt that we should do something more innovative and creative instead of making a glow in the dark painting which was what we were intending to do. We kept researching for ideas in Pinterest and we found some references.

Fig 1.1 Shadow box reference
We decided to make a shadow box but adding LED light inside it so we kept researching for more ideas.

We started out sketching our ideas to see if our design would work on it or not. I decided to combine 3 important cultural elements from Sarawak which were the Dayak traditional people symbol, the sape patterns and also the hornbills.

11.02.19 - 22.02.19

After we have researched for our idea, we sketched out different patterns/designs to visualise our idea. After that, we combined our patterns based on the lecturers' feedback that were given and finalised our patterns. We tried many method with different source of lights to see the outcome and also we consulted with the lecturers to see whether there will be any laser cut issue with our patterns. We began laser cutting and we chose the one with the jigsaw so that it will be easier to be stick/glue. Here is the presentation of our final project :
