PROCESS OF CINEMAGRAPH - SURREALISM PARALLAX

12.11.18 (Week 12)

For this week, we were briefed about our final project which is Cinemagraph - Surrealism Parallax. We had to photoshop/ combine several photos to make it realistic just like our previous project. Later on, we had to animate some movement as if we are making a gif/loop gif. We use Photoshop and After Effects to do this project and techniques from previous classes. Mr Hafiz gave us some examples such as the Coldplay's music video called "Up" and I took inspiration from it. I went to search for realistic illustration/painting and this particular illustration captured my attention because it was interesting and unique that there is an island on the sky.

I tried to find some free stock pictures to recreate this illustration such as masking tree, rock, grass, sky and background.

After gathering all the free stock photos that were needed for the project, I photoshopped and masked the elements just like the Jacek Yerka project.

I used brush and added some shadows on the trees and the rock to show more depth and as in the things are on the land not floating. After adding the brush, I adjusted the brightness, contrast, exposure and transparency of the elements to blend. Next, I added some more clouds.

28.11.18 (Week 14)

This week, we focused more on animating our recreated surreal image in Adobe After Effects where we had to animate to create a cinemagraph / surrealism parallax. I chose to animate the rocks and clouds.
